Default possible new truck

I have a friend who is selling a 2005 2500 duramax diesel, with 160k miles on it. He wants 10k for it.

Is this a good deal?
also, I have never bought a truck, a disel, or anything near 160k miles. Whats a rough estimate of how long this baby will last before having problems? (on average)

thanks,
taintedplay
