Thanks for all the help. I'm new to this stuff and appreciate all the help i can get. I'm picking up a travel trailer tomorrow and I wanted to make sure the truck would handle it. according to the numbers I can tow 8500 lbs.

I have a 2012 Extended Cab, 2WD,5.3L, with a 3.08 rear and limited slip differential. Does that make it kinda rare? I guess it will be better for MPG but worse for pulling and towing?

Not really rare. The newer silverado's with the 6 speed have stupid high rear end ratios. It's harder to find a 3.73 or maybe even a 4.10 1500 now then a 3.08 or a 3.23

check your RPO sticker on the door. What are your codes that start with the letter 'G'?
