Default Replacing spark plugs for 2006 silverado

I'm currently replacing my spark plugs that came factory in the truck. It originally came with ac delco iridiums, but a friend recommended Bosch platinuum single. What does this forum recommend. I only have 46000 miles on my truck. Can you help?

Welcome to the forum...
I think you are best off with the OEM plugs as a replacement...
Other plugs may tout better MPG or performance but realistically if a spark plug could improve your MPG the auto manufactures would be all over them to tout higher mpg to sell you the car or truck....
Go with the OEM plug its what you know works in your vehicle... my .02 cents

You don't need to replace the plugs @ 46000. They last much longer than that. Does your friend know more than the GM engineers. Your truck was designed for AC Delco iridiums and it will perform much better with them in it.

I have heard many stories of people putting Bosch plugs in their GM trucks only to have problems and misfires.

Electricity travels the path of least resistance. The plugs may have multiple electrodes but only ONE spark will occure at a time.

Just my opinion from experience....

I replaced mine (04 5.3 alum. heads) I used copper flake anti-seize on the threads. AC iridium plugs. About $8 ea. at Autozone if I remember correctly.

I replaced my spark plugs quite a while ago from the standard AC Delco to E3, and the difference is notable. I'd recommend E3 to anybody, they've certainly served me well.

on these newer trucks, you must use the factory plugs that are designed for that exact engine.... if you use anything els you can start burning up coils, causing misfires, poor fuel mileage... and on and on.... and also thats a 100k mile engine for tune ups.... so your just waisting your money otherwise
