Question Rusty Kerr

Guys, I need some info. On my 89 silverado, 305 (5.0L), auto, 4x4, there is a tube coming out of the heater hose that goes into some kind of weird looking fitting that is located right next to the distributor on the right side (passenger) side. It is leaking. what is it and how do I change it out? This fitting or whatever it is looks like it is threaded into the intake manifold water jacket. any help will be appreciated. my email is rpjrk4@windstream.net if anyone can help. Thanks.
