silverado ac question
Hey i have a 97 silverado and my ac is not working. I actually do residential hvac for a living so i got a decent grasp on it for the outo side. The compressor is kicking on but nothings getting cold. Bought a recharge kit and when i went to charge it up i actually noticed the low side was really high. Dont have a high side gauge so im just curious if the orifice tube could be clogged... Can anyone tell me if this sounds right and where can i find the orifice tube... Thanks
A blockage in the system would cause the low side to go into vacuum. With a high side reading of 40 the system is nearly empty. The reading of 60 on the low side would make me question the accuracy of the gauge. The recharge in a can kits (gauge made on) are not the best way to go
