I have a 05 Sivlerado 1500 4x4 regular cab. I want to buy a cd player from a 09 Silverado Z71. Will this fit, will the wires hook right up? Will I have any error code issues? I heard if you take out your radio you have to unlock it. What if the one I buy is not unlock, will it still work?

If you didnt get a answer for this. No it wouldnt fit. The 2007-2010 radios are completly different size wise as well as the connectors. Also, the Communication systems that turn the radio on are different to. the older radios like yours use the Class 2 buss and the newer ones use Lan-29 i believe. If you want a different factory radio you need to look at something between a 03 to a 06. Then you have to get it unlocked at the dealer " 50-100 bucks" you might be better off upgrading to a aftermarket radio. just my two cents
