i have a 2000 xcab ls. under the back seat i have two 8 inch JL
audios powered with a JL amp. sh*ts loud as all hell. u
need a slim profile box, but i wouldnt recommend anything besides
JL. they are the best subs. mine have a lower frequency
note than some 12s. But u definitely want a cutoff switch cuz if
anyone sits in your backseat it will shake their eyeballs.

I've just put two 5500 MTX 10's under my back seat. I had to build the box 57" wide, from one side to the other, to get as close as possible to the air space requirement.I used a 3"wide by 12"long port in each side. The speakers face down so the passengers arn't uncomfortable, and the ports face the back of the truck for added depth. I use a 600 watt class "d" mono block amp. They are very loud. I'm still under a week old so I havn't cranked them YET. But They are a perfect match for thefour 6-1/2"component speakers i put in thedoors. They are pushed by a 75 x 4 channel amp. I really like theclarity of the enitre system. But I think that two mid sized10's are deffinetly a way to go.&nb sp;&nb sp; </P>

I have a 98 standard cab with 2 8" fosgate HEs, the old style from a
few years ago, powered by a 350 x 4 soundstorm amp. The two sub
channels are bridged and the subs are wired parallel to pull 4
ohms. The amp also powers my 6.5" Infinity reference
components in the doors and 4x6 infinity references behing the
seat. The subs are in a custom made box to fit behind the
seat. They will hit 148 dB.
