Towing question
Traded in my 2008, 1500 for a 2011, 1500. Running a 4.8 engine. We pull a camper and it shifts different than my 08. Going up hills it shifts into low gear at around 3000prm. Just doesn't seem to have the same power as my 08 did, but same motor. Is there anything I can do to improve the my pulling power ? Thinking I should have kept the 08. Is one of these superchips the answer ?

no, custom tune as i said in another post, handhelds do nothin. Go to any other site and ask the same question they'll all tell you custom tune from blackbear, wheatley, or nelson. and do you know the gear ratio for the 08 and then the 11? i'm will to bet they're different and do you know if you have the 6 speed tranny or the 4 speed? the 08 had the 4 speed so i think it may of have 3:42 or maybe 3:23 gears but if the 11 has the 6 speed it probably has 3:08 gears which will hurt when you tow

The 11 has a 4 speed too. I was told I could change gears to 4:10's( maybe 3:73's), put a Cold air intake, throtal body spacer, and go to a better muffler, and improve my gas mileage and towing pwr. Cost around $2000. Wonder if it would void my warrerty ?

do you tow often? is so then the 4:10s would be better but if its a mixed 50/50 towing and not towing then 3:73s would be better
a cold air intake will help and so will a better muffler but a throttle body spacer does nothin on these newer trucks
