This is a great idea for those who have the resources, but the reason turbos have started to fade in popularity from the retail market is most manufacturers haven't been able to deal with "coking"; a turbo dirt buildup inside the engine and system over a short period of time. Many retail purchasers bought into the "Turbo" fad about 15-20 years ago, only to have engine problems down the road.

Pro racers don't have this problem because they rip the engine completely apart every few races, and carry spare engines which a team can drop into the car at a moment's notice.

if your really creative, you'd find a way to put a changeable filter somewhere in the turbo plumbing without restricting to much of the airflow the turbo pushes through.

Kinda hard to do that and keep the accelerated flow which makes turbos what they are.

As long as the spirits willing to remove the coking often, turbos are great.
