RE: turn signal switch
Welcome to the forum!!! Not sure. Someone here should be able to answer your question, hang in there. Just on a side note, why are you wanting to take the turn signal switch out?

RE: turn signal switch
If you are carefull, no.....if this is your first, then yes
Remove the dash panel around your instrument cluster, parking brake cable, knee bolster, steel bracket under knee bolster, d\c the bulk head connector, release the 2 outside connectors of bulk head, remove wire from shift interlock, remove the bottom part of the shroud around the steering column, remove screws holding the top on(inverted torx screws X2). You need to remove the ign cylinder to completely remove the upper shroud. to do this, you need a long pick with a right angle end. the ign cylinder need to be turned to the start position, and there is a small hole (about 1\8th inch) that you need to stick the pick into to depress a button that will allow the ign cylinder to be released. the hole is about and inch inward from the end of the cylinder, and directly on top of the key cylinder. It is a real pain in the rear to get the first time doing one. if you can't find it, remove the steering wheel to access it it easier. If you don't think you will be able to get it, remove the steering wheel before starting the job, and will make a lot of the parts come off easier.
hope that helps

RE: turn signal switch
If your gonna pull the steering wheel, d\c the battery for at least 10 mins before attempting any repairs to avoid any injury from accidental air bag deploying.
start with the steering wheel in the straight ahead position, turn 90 degrees, and go straight downinto the side of the steering wheel with a flat blade screwdriver....with a twisting motion, release the spring holding the air bag in. Turn the wheel 180 degrees and do the same on the other side. the air bag connectors release by pulling the locking tab straight out, then squeezing the tabs to release the connector. the horn wire will have to depress slightly then turn counter clockwise. Careful because these plastic tubes break easy. Remove the nut from the center of the steering wheel.
If you have a steering wheel puller, then go ahead and use it. If not, most steering wheels you can get off by hand. Push hard on the top, then bottom, left, then right. Now pull while wiggling the wheel and it should pop off.
