hi I am looking at a 2004 Silverado z71 5.3 engine with 160k miles on it.
Here are the specs on the vehicle
2004
Silverado
5.3l
Red
4WD
Z71 Off Road Edition
Clean title in hand
Leather seats on the inside
160k on odometer, engine, trans, and body
I am looking at the vehicle, but it says to make an offer. I do not know how or where to get a price for the vehicle at. I see a lot of others on craigslist with mileage in the 170-200k area going for 8-9000. Does this seem fair or are they over priced?
Thanks

What you see in the ads are asking prices. They do not sell for that. Everyone asks for more than they really want and usually settle for less. You can offer a really low price and negotiate up to a fair price. If the truck was well cared for then 160,000 miles isn't that bad.

I would inspect the truck first and it is passes your inspection, I would start at 7900 or 8000 and expect him to talk you up but set a cap for your self and stick to it.
I've bought vehicles on CL before, usually when they just list it as "make an offer" they want more than it's worth or there is something wrong with it. Usually it's fixable issues that people just don't want to deal with but best to CYA and try to get it for as low a price as you can without pulling lowballer crap. With 160K, while it is not that bad it's not that good either, you should expect general wear and tear on it.
Look the truck over first, the last thing you want to do as make an $8000 mistake getting yourself had on CL.
