Default vent,vaccum?

yesterday while changing the oil in my 94 1500 ,4.3 litter i noticed a small hose on top of the tranny, just lying there. it looks like it is either a vent hose or a vaccum hose. any ideas as to where it connects to, or what is it? any help appreciated.thanks

if it's about 3/8" or 1/2" it's a vent. should be tied up so it doesn't get caught in driveline or something. that tranny doesn't have any vacuum lines.
