Default Vortec 454 to non-Vortec truck

I have a 91 3500 with a blown 454, I have a chance to buy a 96 Vortec 454, can I strip down the vortec to the block and heads and transfer the intake, distributor, and accesories from the 91 to the 96. Thanks Ron

As long as you transfer everything above the head, you should be fine. Only differences would be the redesigned heads and some electronics. Heads won't be a problem, electronics would but if you swap everything from the intake manifold up, you won't have to worry about that.
