Default Water pump on a 305 in a 1992.

This morning at Lowes when I came out my water pump was leaking from the weep hole on the top of it. 2 days ago I had put a new lower radiator hose on, but I dont think thats tied in. When I got home, 2.5 miles away, and at 190 f. it stopped leaking and was dried back up. I went out and opened the radiator later and added water while I let in run, and no leaks. Was this a one time fluke? And, if the water pump does start to weep again, how long can I run it before I have to replace it? Its getting colder here now and I only drive 2 miles to work. I usually jump right on things like this, but I can't this time.

You've got a few days at best. Best not to wait till the fan falls off into the radiator to change the water pump..
