What offset and tire size will work on the 09 with leveling kit?

What offset and tire size will work on the 09 with leveling kit?
I'm wanting to put wheels and tires on. I'm going to use a level kit but am wondering if I can get a 33X12.50 under the 09 2500. I had them on my 01 but don't know if it will work on the new body style. A little trimming would be okay.............Does anyone have experience with this? Most people say I have to stay with at least a +20 offset, The wheels I like or -12. All help would be appreciated.
