Hi all new to forum!! I just got a new to me 04 1500 Silverado. It has a loud whistle noise outside the truck around 65 mph.. I taped up several spots to find where its coming from connot find the spot. I am pulling my hair out. (what I have left!!) Any Ideas??

 

Can you tell a general location? I have seen mirrors that whistle. Might try folding them in to see if they are the source.

 

did you get a carfax report on it when you bought it? i had a buddy with a 03 who bought used and never got the carfax report (private party seller, not a dealership) and had the same problem, turns out the truck was tboned and the door never made a complete seal, there was a dent in the pillar that let rushing air in, and you couldnt feel it (b/c of the weatherstriping) but you could definitely hear it...

 

I will try the car fax. I cant tell where it is coming from. it starts 70mph and stops at 15 mph over that. Its not the mirrors and the cab is quiet (no wind). I can tell its coming from outside the vehicle.. I can live with it as I dont travel that fast normally.. Its just annoying..

 

If its a E Cab it is the rear side window.
