good point. i just figured those guys replaced their entire suspension. i didnt bother with that, i like to haul *** across the desert with my stock Z71 w/ 3 inch body lift, among my other offroading habits...probably why my front end end gets thrown off easily! but i have fun doing it.

The Z71 option is no longer a trim package on the current Silverado.
It is a simple free flow option that includes 1.81" shocks, Off Road Jounce Bumpers, 34mm Front Stabilizer Bar, High Capacity Air Filter, G80 Locking Rear Differential, Skid Plates, and Z71 decals.
The Z71 option can be ordered on trim groups LT1, LT2 and LTZ.

Triple wow, a person with such a limited mind set to think that off roading can only be accomplished in a 4X4 when in fact some of the most capable off road vehicles are 2WD.

Quadroople wow, anyone that thinks lifting a 4X4 improves it's performance............"STUUUUUPID!!"

I'm not geting a lift, I'm clearing 37'sat nearly stock height. And yes I've pulled many 2wd prerunners out of the sand, you gotta keep the momentum going with a 2wd or your gonna get stuck, unless you got a 2wd that is ready to race corr, or the baja 1000. And yes I've seen people jump stock or "lifted" trucks and yes that is stupid, definitly not made for that! Oh yeah CORR does have a 4wd class

Totally agree with the Lame 2wd z71

When searching for my current z71 (4x4) Lt2 crew I stumbled upon an unbelievable price. Kept looking to see why the sticker price was so low (was an expert after rsching for 3 mo.). Come to find out, I could not find the 4x4 switch on the dash... The damn truck had z71 4x4 stickers but was only a 2wd!!!!

I told the salesman that if I would have purchased this and found out it was a 2wd I would have drove it through the showroom floor.

He later said he blamed the factory but I think it was bait to get shoppers in. I ended up buying my ride from them bc he gave me a damn good deal. z71 is for 4x4's in my book.

Fifth time wow- if you dont think a lifted 4x4 is better for off roading than a 2wd truck than your are incorrect. The liftimproves clearance which improves off roading capability. And the 4 wheel drive pulls better than 2 wheel drive thats a fact. Different off roading requires different trucks- who ever said anyone was talking about flying accross the desert anyway, thats not 4 wheeling thats racing a completely different conversation. Z71 OFF ROAD SUSPENSION

Not: Z71 4X4 SUSPENSION
Not: Z71 LIFTED TRUCK SUSPENSION
Not: Z71 Impress the Kids at the Jr. High School Suspension.

Just keep repeating to yourself the excerpts above that you wrote and I underlined and remember that busting across the desert is "off roading".
