I just bought a set of 36x12.50 R16.5 Goodyear Wrangle RT 2s or the tires from a hummer h1. I cant use the hummer rims and I'm not going to get them re-centered. Does anyone know where I can get a set of 16.5 8 lug cheap steel rims?

Yea I was thinking a junkyard too. Also I was wondering what width the rim has to be? I know the tire width is 12.50 but I'm not finding any rims that have that same width. I've seen rims that are 8.50 and 12.00. Will that tire fit on a 16.5x8.50 rim?

yeah, it'll fit. typically you don't want the rim anymore than 3, maybe four inches narrower than the tire. an 8.5 inch rim will work for the 12.5" tire. tho, if you can come across a 10" rim, might be a bit better.

thats actually the exact rim that came with the tires...but they have to be recentered and I'm not the best welder so I'd have to have it done, so $60 for each recentering plate and then paying a fab shop to weld em in...It'll just be cheaper to buy new rims. Summit Racing has a lot of nice 16.5" rims for around $85 a piece.
