I have a 2001 Suburban LS (model code CK15906).
This is NOT a self leveling system.
My GM dealer wants $172.00 PER SHOCK. For parts alone, the dealer wants about $400 for the front pair after taxes!!!!! I provided the VIN and told this that this does NOT have autoride.
Questions:
Is the dealer ripping me off?
Can someone recommend OEM like (or better) replacements. I will NOT be doing much off roading. I want a smooth, comfortable and quiet ride.
I hesitate to put Monroes on. I put Monroe struts in my minivan and both sides blew out in 6 months.
I am not looking for cheap, but $400 seems about twice the price it should be. Would Bilsteins be good? I want a smooth and silent ride.
Thanks all.

Bilstein also makes a good product. A lot of Gm trucks use to come with yellow and blue Blisteins, this could be very similar if not the same as the originals. 2001 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN 1500 Bilstein B6 HD Shocks and Struts 24-065009 - SummitRacing.com
