Tahoe & Suburban The power, space, and brutal towing ability make the Tahoe and its longer sibling, the Suburban, arguably the best full size SUV's on the market today.

Default 04 Suburban Transmission

New to this and any forums, but more of a concern, not really an issue (hopefully). I’ve own my Suburban for a little over 3 years now, and this is the second time I’m getting my trans rebuilt, the first time was the first year I had it and made a long trip, roughly a 1200 mile round trip, not towing anything and driving like normal and about 50 miles away from my house, I lost my higher gears. Got the trans rebuilt and now 3 years later, not even over 30,000 miles on the rebuilt trans, same thing happened but around town, didn’t make a long trip again since the first year and and I never towed anything or hauled anything in it. Drove it like normal, very seldomly would I have a lead foot. This is my wife’s almost daily driver and she never hits the throttle hard, drives like normal. My main concern is even with the transmission rebuilt or even getting a new(er) trans put in, would it most likely go out again in the next few years put almost 10,000-15,000 miles on it per year? Sorry for the long post and is this just a problem with these Suburbans?
