4WD are E85 FlexFuel capable and 2WD are not unless the option (LMG) was purchased.

What are you talking about?
2WD or 4X4 has not one thing to do with which engine a 2007 Tahoe is equipped with.

RE: 07 rear badging question
Just going by what the brochure says. 2WD is available with E85 and 4WD comes with E85 standard.
Of course that's the same brochure that says it'll cruise on level road in V4 mode. My service dept. says that the truck will go to V8 mode any time a load is sensed which means V4 will only work when going down hill or coasting.

Do yourself a favor and don't rely on the product brochure for your technical data, it was edited and published several months before the 07 Tahoe went into production.
The Reg 5.3L (LY5) or the E85 (LMG) engine must be specified when ordering the new Tahoe, there is a no cost difference and the computer will not auto select this for the inventory manager.
We've discussed the AFM system at nauseum in this forum but do yourself a little experiment, find a long flat stretch road and set the cruise at about 50 MPH and once the speed has stabilized the engine should go into 4 cyl mode, then bump up the cruise control 2mph allowing it to stabilize at each point and see at what speed it will no longer go into 4 cyl mode (probably around 65 mph).
The system is designed to operate at certain load factors which normally equate to this speed but there are many variables that affect this.

RE: 07 rear badging question
Have intended to try just that the next time I get out of town. Also want to investigate the effect of whether it's in tow/haul mode.
RE: Brochure info may be old (mine is Jan 2006) but their website says the same thing. Will withhold final judgment on AFM until the experiment is done. Promise I won't bring it up again after that.

RE: 07 rear badging question
Hi,
I am thinking about buying a 2007 tahoe. I have been looking at them for a while. So after reading a few comments you are telling me that all 2007 4x4 5.3 liter will not run on ethanol? I thought that was a standard option on all 5.3s? Please help me out. Thanks.
I just looked at the vehicle build sheet and it says LMG - VORTEC 5300 V8 SFI FLEX FUEL?

RE: 07 rear badging question
I have an '07 Tahoe 4x4 LT that runs on ethanol. I cant find it anywhere, but it is possible if i really wanted to. So the answer to your question is that it is standard. Good luck and happy shopping.
