RE: 07 TAHOE HEADLIGHTS! YOU GOT THIS PROBLEM?
Dave,
THanks for the info. I guess that makes sense, however does it continue to get worse as time goes on? Does it not impare the potential of the lights? Thanks again and I guess there isnt a need to stress on this.
What is funny. I asked my dealership about this when I got the tahoe. They told me that it was strange. And they were able to use some high tech cleaner to get it off. They were going to order me new lights until this cleaner got it off!
Well, it isnt off because it is still there. Almost like it came back! So that is why I was wondering if it will continue to get worse?

This is becoming a problem on many different manufacturers headlights. It seems the plastic lenses are being effected by the UV making them cloudy or hazy.

Golfer, I too thought this was a problem.
However, Dave/ZX stated that this is a protective coating that GM purposely put onto the lenses for protection. Seems strange since it looks as if it would impair the headlights, but if it is on there it must be for a good reason.

No TSB,
This is normal and it is a feature that you should be glad you have, the lenses are clear but are coated with a material to help prevent damage from debris striking the lens, when the headlights are on you can see the coating but only if you look intently.
You guys really should go for a drive and try to enjoy your Tahoe's once in while.

well if it is in fact UV damage (which i seriously doubt since its a new truck) then you can get 3M Plastic Cleaner and Polish. Nissans have a lot of issues with their headlights clouding from UV damage (the obvious clouding, aka 3+ year old vehicle), which is where I learned about this awsome cleaner. It actually turned my girlfriend integras headlights from yellowish cloudy to crystal clear. There is an actual Nissan TSB stating the use of the 3M cleaner.

For some reason both my headlights seem to have a film, or cloudy look on the casing.
It is really only visible with the headlights on. However it doesnt wipe off, but it looks as if it is on the ouside. I dont know what the heck it is. But it has continued to get worse over the last few weeks. Both of them seem to be getting cloudly almost like a moisture problem. WOuld you guys please go turn your headlights on and take a look at them and see if you have this issue?
Thanks guys, Landon.

If the lenses are coated with a film to prevent damage ( i.e. stone cracking the lense) it's curious if this film will also protect from UV discoloration.
This is a problem not only with Nissan but almost all the manufacturers.
