Default 1997 suburban 1500 4L60E interchangeability

The transmission in my 1997 GMC 4x4 Suburban 1500 is dead. It has a rebuilt 460LE. I have a 1994 1500 4x4 Chevy Suburban on the property with a working transmission. Are they compatible? I have heard and read that they are not but its been a while and I have lost the resource and wanted to be sure. I know both models have and ECM or computer, are the computers interchangeable from one vehicle to the other? I ask because maybe the computer could accompany the trans...

The first problem that comes up is;
The 94 is OBD l and the 97 Is OBD ll, big difference.
They both rely on certain inputs from the trans and the later one provides addl inputs
Best to stay with the same year if possible.
