1998 Suburban starting problem
I just bought a 1998 Suburban and I'm having a starting problem. I turn the key nothing happens. If I move the shifter to neutral I still get nothing. But if I rock it and play with the shifter enough I can get it to start sometimes. Can anyone help me out? TIA.

RE: 1998 Suburban starting problem
The batteries seem to be OK. I replaced the park/neutral switch last nite to no avail. It still won't start. Could the starter be getting hung up on the torque convertor? I have no key problems the car just won't crank.

RE: 1998 Suburban starting problem
No noise what-so-ever. I have tried the park/neutral switch ( both replacement and adjustment), starter relay, checked ignition switch wiring, checked all the fuses that relate to the engine cranking. I am going to try the starter tonite unless someone has any other suggestions.

98 Suburban Park/Neutral Switch
My rig would not start at first, then noticed that it would start in Neutral, also noticed that the Park indicator was not illuminated. Then I noticed that the rig was not actually not in park and would roll. The rest of the transmission seems to work fine. Does it sound like the Park / Neutral Switch and how easy is it to change?

98 Suburban Park/Neutral Switch
More investigating found that the shift lever at the Park/Neutral safety switch has some slop in the Park position. If I move it forward all the way it illuminates the Park Indicator and the transmission is in park. The column shifter does not position the lever forward enough. Is there an adjustment nut on the cable?
