Default 1999 5.7 vw motor overhaul questions

im in the middle of rebuilding a new motor for my hoe 350 block with 700r tranny for it, im looking to go supercharged, but im stuck weither to go between carbed and supercharged or fuel injected and supercharged, im looking for power but not that bad of fuel econmy either, my 4x4 will be removed itll be 2wd with the 700r tranny ,

Welcome to the forum.

Well I think w/ a blown 350, fuel economy is not going to be part of the equation but FI would probably be better. But you'll need a computer and someone to program it unless you can get a canned one which may or may not be optimal. I assume you're going to build up the 700R4 for the extra power. Might want to build the rear end too.

okay so that could be pretty expsesive would i better better off , boring the **** out of it, high compression pistons, high compression headgasket, shave the head as much as i can to achieve really high compression the port and polish the head, port and polish bigger valved stronger valve springs, racing cam, 850 cfm carb, would that produce quite abit of power?

In the right combination, yes. Or go w/ a GM crate engine. Might be cheaper and has a warranty.
