Hey guys,
I think the latch on the cargo door broke inside the tail gate of my 99 Suburban. Door was locked, I pulled up and the handle swung up too far. Feels like its disconnected with whatever it is supposed to be inside the cargo door to release it.
I have the pickup truck style rear door meaning it swings down as opposed to barn doors.
The upper glass part opens.
There is no inside handle to release the door so I have to fix it.
Im assuming I unscrew the plastic cap cover on the inside of the cargo door.
Any ideas if I will need parts or if I can reattach whatever came loose?
Any suggestions or advice appreciated.
Thanks

Actually fairly simple fix.
Remove panel on hatch door. Remove trim that runs along edge on the floor to access lower hatch panel screws.
Remove metal plate that covers latch levers for the handle.
There was a metal rod that had come loose from the lever that releases the hatch.
Adjusted and reattached rod to handle lever and its fixed.
At least for now.
