1999 tahe changing engine
i have 169k on the engine and well it finally gave way...the rod snapped and i was thinking about rebuilding it but thats would cost major $$$$$$ so i found a buddy of mine that had an 85 350 bored .30 with a performance cam in it for 400...i jumped on that right away its got 14k on it and its in immaculate shape. it was on the stand he turned it we took off the new oil pan...it was amazing everything was brand new no gunk on the walls they were smooth as all hell...i fell in love with it. but the only bad thing is that since its an 85 its non vortec....i heard that all you have to do is the the vortect heads on my truck and put it on that old motor just use a fuel pump block off plate and use my stock intake on the 85 motor...will this work has anyone tried it..do i need to switch anything else off of it....please let me know im going to take pics when i do this in 2 weeks...
