Default 2001 tahoe abs/brake light

My ABS and Brakes on my dash intermittently come on. There is no rhyme or reason as to why, and ABS is not kicking in when that happens. They always come on together. I am looking to sell my Tahoe but not sure what to tell potential buyers. it has been happening for years.

My 99 did the same thing. I changed the sensors as recommended and it was no help. It would stop and then start back up a while later. I cleaned everything like recommended, also did not help. The ABS module is probably bad.

Get the ABS codes read and report back. A entry level or free auto parts store scan tool can not do it. Those only read engine codes.

My 2001 does the same thing.

Do you have an E-Brake setup for towing?

There was a video I saw regarding the board on that module.

Anyhow - I have to get into the codes of it as well.

Theres a fairly common issue with the abs modules going bad but i dont remember the years...BUT I wouldn't lean towards anything without codes being pulled and testing some things

My 01 does the same thing. There is a ground strap right near the module that grounds (just about under the drivers floorboard). make sure that is clean and tight. My code indicates that a relay in the module fails and I read on line of a place where you can send your module to and they will replace the relay (not a simple plug in) and it ran about $150 versus replacing the module...Only down side is it is out of comission until you get it back and re-installed...

CODE C0265

It could be the module for real (which case the $150 may be in order - or a home job)

Then it could be the ground - I'll check that first.

Thanks
