Default 2001 Tahoe strange driver window issue

Hello everyone, I am new to this forum.

Recently purchased a 2001 Tahoe and really love the car. Have had some issues, most are resolved but this came up a couple of days ago:
when pushing the driver window down button, it seems to get stuck in the "go fully down" mode. If I press the window up button while it is going down, it just stops midway while going down. When I release the up button, it resumes going down until it's fully down. After resetting the car and opening and closing the door, the up button works fine and the window goes all the way up. Problem comes back again as soon as I push the window down button.
I would think that the switch just gets stuck in the down position, but how does it get unstuck electrically after restarting the car?

Any thoughts are appreciated. Thank you!

Might be a bad switch, but could also be the body control module (BCM).

Then again... here is the diagram I found online for the windows:

Sure does not seem to show anything between those up/down switches and the motor...
