Default 2006 Tahoe Rear door latch

Please help me with this. I just found this sight. It looks like there is a lot of smart people here. I have a 2006 Tahoe. Today, I can't get the hatchback or rear window to open. The remotes work but they only open the front doors & side doors. I called on star, they said I may have to get the remotes worked on, but I don't understand why I would have to do that if the other doors open. The child locks are not on, I cant open it from the inside lock. Also, there is no manual way to open it either. Has anyone heard of this? I have 39k miles. Is this designed to happen after the warranty is gone. I've always had Chevys and so has my family but I have never seen this. Anyone have any ideas. Thanks!

Yes in fact I have heard of these problems. You have to pull the door panel off and figure out how the latch works, when you do that, open the latch from the inside. You'll need to check the motor/solenoid that locks and unlocks the gate. If thats froze up, you'll need a new one.

Is the motor usually something that is covered in extended warranty? There is no way I would be able to pull the panel off. I was hoping there was some secret child lock I mistakenly hit. I can't beleive there is not an inside manual release. Thank you for your help.

I have the same issue. There are some fuses to check that I will do today. Will let you know. It is kind of rediculous that you can't open the rear access manually or unlock it with the key.
