Default 2007 suburban dvd screen issue.

Howdy folks I have researched and researched and can’t find anything on my issue. We have a 2007 suburban with the navigation screen and DVD player. So on a trip all the sudden the dvd button disappeared from top of touchscreen. We can put a dvd in but all it does it says reading disc for a few mins and ejects it. Is the system just fried or is there something I can do to fix it. Also I can’t be the only one this has happened to but I have yet to find any info on a solution. Thanks hope someone can help.
