Tahoe & Suburban The power, space, and brutal towing ability make the Tahoe and its longer sibling, the Suburban, arguably the best full size SUV's on the market today.

No contest. The Suburban will have a higher rating and will be more stable/more pleasant to drive because of the longer wheelbase.

Rancho shocks, hill descent control, transfer case shield, a locking rear-diff. Supposedly more off-road capable. Plus all the interior extras. It's like an LTZ+.
If your looking for payload they made a 3/4 ton 'burb up til 2013. Bigger motor, transmission, brakes (w/ hydro-boost).

I'm pretty sure Z71 is just more of an appearance package - not really any serious upgrades. At most, it has skidplates and maybe some better/stiffer shocks. Certainly nothing that would impact towing ratings.

From trailerlife.com for equivalent 3.42 rear ends, 5.3 liter engine, trailer package, cooling package and 4 wheel drive:

2010 Suburban 7900 lbs
2010 Tahoe 8200 lbs

Tahoe wins in this case. It’s because it’s dragging around less weight. However, we all know Suburban’s can be optioned out to tow more. My 2008 3/4 ton can tow 9300 lbs.
