Default 96 7.4L 4x4 / new to forum

hey all,

Ive just signed into this forum and registered as I have just became the owner of a 96 burb 4x4 with the 7.4L. I LOVE IT. to say the least, "but" as with all used cars after I bought it the problems started to show their faces of course...
started with rough starts after running to work or store, not when cold, I checked the fuel pressure and it was low according to the specs I found of 60-66psi it was around 50, so I changed the fuel filter and same...so I went ahead and changed the fuel pump, oddly ...the same pressure reading at the rail...after banging my head against the wall, Im concidering the fuel pressure reg...you know the one under the manifold that is easy to get to[]....
funny thing is after I installed the new pump I drove around for an evening and all was ok even though I still had hard starts here and there It was driving fine, then this morning it lost tons of power as if I lost a cylinder right after it started just fine....fuel press still the same around 50-55psi...what do you think...remember I just got this truck and dont know all the history..

thanx for all you help in advance..
