Default 96 burban

im getting ready to swap a new used rear end into my 96 chevy suburban its 4x4. so question is can i get a rear end that is not a 4x4 or does it need to be 4x4. and how hard is it to change from an 8 lug to a 6 lugif need to

hard to change from 8 lug to 6 lug (5 lug to 6 lug is easier), 2 wd - 4wd it is a direct swap in most cases, but the 2wd may be weaker, it is best to find the exact same rearend you already have, same gear ratio and everythin, there is another guy on here who has different gear ratios, and he cant put it in 4wd without the axle hopping
