97 or 2000 Suburban
Hey y'all I'm new to the forum and am looking into buying a late 90's or early 2000's suburban for hauling the family around.
My questions are which do y'all prefer?
I really like either body style (wife likes the newer) but it seems like the late 90's actually had better leather
Which gen seems to be more reliable, better performance and mpg?
Also is there anything I should look at with the high miles of both vehicles. With my price range it looks like I'll be lucky to break 150,000 miles
Thanks for the help

Here's a good link that compares the model years:
2000-2006 (10th generation):

1992-1999 (9th generation):

I chose the 2001 model, liked some of the advances from the previous generation (spare tire, front lights, engine, and other items). You ought to get a bit better gas mileage with a smaller engine. Often with the advances, they tended to fix concerns from prior years.
Either way, keep your wife happy! And make sure you get rear AC for the family.
