99 burb DEALER installed REMAN BOOSTER!
2nd time posting cause I toggled to another screen and lost my LONG post
The PO had the brakes booster replaced at a local chevy dealer at 125k. I am now at 136k and it whistles when I brake inside the cab and its annoying! this has been in the car for 16 mo!
I went into the dealer to ask if it was under warranty and after having a tough time with the part no he went into the shop and came back to say 12 months 12000 miles!
I looked him in the eye and said "this is why I DON'T buy chevys"!!!
They charged 203.00 for a cardone reman unit that I can find for 99.00 and even found a NEW GM one for 124.00!
I am planning to whine about this on YELP and thought I would run it past the group for an opinion.
I want to like my new ride and am trying to look at all the positive things but its stuff like this that leaves a bad taste in my mouth Like my 82 GM 350 diesel DEBOCKLE 30 years LOL!
cheers!

Welcome to the forum...
12/12 for replacement parts is pretty standard as I understand it....
Now the re-manufactured part is a bit odd for a dealership as they usually use the recommend OEM part unless otherwise specified by the owner, even with OEM parts is still 12/12 warranty..its possible that the vehicle is old enough that only reman parts are available....
