Default 99 Tahoe A/C

Worked well all last summer. Now 134 has dropped off. Bottom line question. What would be normal process to get ready to vac down and recharge again.
Is there a kit out there that will contain o-rings for back of compressor, etc, etc, etc.
I dont know that it will be necessary to replace accumulator because it works fine, it has just bled off pressure.
Thanks guys!

Consider replacing the o rings, washer seals, expansion valve, etc (all the little stuff that are relatively inexpensive.) If your needing lines, "pick-a-part" joints are definite worth the savings.

If you have a mechanics shop already in mind, they'll usually honor whatever parts you bring in (one less thing they have to do) so long as they are the right parts. You may not get a warranty for those parts, but you make the choice on savings vs warranty.

Normal process is that they run the vacuum to evacuate the old refrigerant then fill the system with new refrigerant. If you've ever used the over the counter refrigerant or the sealant additive, your mechanic may have issues with that, but that's up to the mechanic too.

If you have rear ac, anticipate on paying a little more for the extra cans of refrigerant needed.

Best find the leak rather than "easter egging" the problem. The rotary compressor seal is a usual suspect.

Default Thanks 73 Shark

I appreciate that 73 Shark. I did take a look at the compressor today and it appears to have some green spray of some sort dried on it. Just looks likes you took an aerosol can and splattered it.
Can a mechanical person such as myself replace this seal on the compressor or have to buy new one. I also had someone tell me that you cant get warranty covered by parts store if you install it yourself? Know if thats true?

Not sure. I did mine on my '73 Corvette but I had to borrow some special tools to do it. Probably need a factory service manual.
