Default Amp Question

I have a 07 Tahoe LTw/out Bose. I know the factory Bose amp would be located in the center console if minehad factory Bose. My question is, I'm going to put in a factory Nav and I know I have to run the speakers off a 4 channel amp. I've seen pics where some people have installed the amp in the rear by the jack. Is it possible to put the aftermarket amp in the same place as the factory amp would be? Has anyone tried this?

I'm sure its possible. You will just have to find an amp that will fit in the center console. I am in the same situation but I still have to add the amp. I am also going to mount it there. There is plenty of room under there so you will just need to shop around for the right size amp.
