So my 99 Tahoe LS just rolled over 300,000 miles and is starting to show the abuse I have put it through, towing heavy trailers, used as a tool truck, recovery vehicle, etc. So I ran across this 99 Tahoe with 200K on it and owners say it has blown head gasket. I go look at it and the truck starts right up but is blowing coolant right out the tail pipe. Towed it home for $500 figure I can use it to freshen up the 96. After looking this LT Tahoe over I am starting to think of using the engine out of the 96 and putting this 99 on the road. Talk about a change of plans. Only thing I don't particulary like about the LT is the barn doors on the back. Sure have gotten used to the tail gate on the 96. wonder if they will retro fit across and put the gate on the 99...........
