Default buying a 1990 suburban v1500

hello all,
i am a new member to this forum and we are planning on buying a 1990 suburban and was wondering what we should look for in the vehicle and also, does the engine have time belt or timing chain? Any help and direction would be greatly appreciated.

So the things I see are motor condition (rebuilt etc..) and the type motor....350 or 454 and the most important one..... 4wd or 2wd?

Whats in your scope?

I already purchased the vehicle the engine was rebuilt and it is a 350 and 4wd. And she has been driving very well the only thing i might need to change is the starter.

These starters are easy to get to and change. Just don't forget to put the heat shield back on. Welcome.

Don't loose the shims if there are any. They need to be there to set the backlash on the gears.

Question Again, does anyone knows if the 90 suburban uses a timing belt or chain?

Gonna be a chain....... best thing to get to answer all your questions up front.

Grab a Chilton manual for it.

Then order the Jegs and LMC parts catalogs.
