Default Cabin Air Filter? 2006 Burb 1500 LS 5.3

Googled it and seem to have different answers.
2006 Chevy Suburban 1500 LS
I have a loud hum when fan is set on 4 or 5 setting. I was thinking it might be a clogged cabin filter. On 3 it runs fine and that's where I've been running it.
Is it a matter of removing the lower panel to visually check if a cabin air filter is there?
Just trying to save some time by not doing unnecessary work.

Thanks for the info. I already know a cabin filter is available. From what I read a filter depends on your trim level.
Since I couldn't get a definite answer I decided to get up early before it got hot to have a look.
Removed the lower cover screws and took a peek.
No filter on my model. Just a sealed case.

What trim level do you have?

BTW, back in my youth, there were no CAF's and my 1998 Chevy K-1500 doesn't have one, which doesn't bother me at all. As a professional driver, many or most commercial rigs back in my earlier days didn't even have A/C, although many owner-operators had them available. Most trucking outfits did not, so you baked in the heat. With a COE rig, the engine was right next to you, not in the front as with most commercial trucks nowadays.

Nowadays, driving a rig is like driving a modern pickup with lots of goodies (blue-tooth, XM radio, cruise-control, ect) as well as A/C too). They even have a system I really hate: the so-called "Auto-Shift" system, which is a device, unlike an automotive automatic transmission, but that does the shifting for you like an automatic transmission, with an electronically controlled servo-mechanism to do the shifting, as traditional medium-duty Eaton truck automatic transmissions won't work in large semi-trucks weight at all.

I'll take a good old 13, 15 or 18-speed manual transmission any day of the week. Autoshifts are for beginners and take forever to get up to freeway speeds'.

There are no badges on the truck. I mistakenly listed my burb as a LT. It is actually a LS model 1500.
Again, no CAF in it which is no big deal.

I suppose a cabin air filter might keep the evaporator and heater a bit cleaner, but I've had no trouble with my 1998 Chevy K-1500 and the climate control box, and I don't care about dust since I have breathed in so much of that racing dirt-bikes, and driving off-road, my lungs might still have some of that in them. No big deal to me.
