Default Can rpo codes be changed

I'm taking my 2009 tahoe in with pro AP8 in to have the remote start done. My question is after the techs are done will my rpo AP8 be replaced with AP3 or stay the same?

Welcome to the forum.

They might be able to change it in the data base for your VIN.

I have factory start on 07 Tahoe LT
- does a part exist that can extend the range.
I swear mine doesn't work past 100 feet!
I just had Dealer replace the Receiver and both key Fobs
There was a TSB on my vehicle, dash kept saying replace battery in remote key!
The original was no different in range compared to the latest install.

You can get the extended range remote as a dealer installed accessory. It's the one w/ the LCD display and is about 50% bigger than the original remote. They claim up to 1,000' range. YMMV

I had AP* option and had remote start installed at the dealer. They printed the new RPO code and taped it beside the label in the glove box.
