Default Changing the head unit

After upgrading the inside speakers and adding subs while running 2 amps i notice my options of tunning this beast is very limited with the stock headunit. The only reason i didnt change the headunit was because i order the hoe with the rear dvd package for my kids. is there some way to replace the headunit and still keep the rear dvd funtionability ( able to listen to music upfront while the kids enjoy a movie just like the stock bose unit) I notice alot of members running the z1 and will like to know if you able to do this with that headunit or similar one.. will i loose the rear controls ect ect..
