Default Chevy brand Alarm System Question/Need Help

I just bought a 2008 Tahoe. I was thinking about buying the Chevy made inclination sensor and and crash sensor. GM makes these parts. I wanted to see if anyone has them and would or would not recommend them:

Any help would be great

I am intersted in the alarm/shock add on also. Anyone have any experince at all. I talked to my dealer today he told me that it came with instructions but could not tell me if it need to be programmed. When I got my remote start add on his computer told him that it needed to be programmed. Does anyone know anthing about those systems? Any dealer guys on this site that can do more research

I don't have the accessories myself but I'm going to guess that you will have to have the BCM re-programmed for any add-ons like the factory alarm stuff.
Its just like the remote start feature, your vehicle may be wired for it and you can buy the key fob but GM wants a little extra to enable it.

The 2-way remote does require re-programming. I suspect as in2pro says, that the alarm add-ons do also.

We have the shock sendos on two trucks, works really good. You must have the tech 2 programing by the dealer done.

Question Shock Sensor / Wheel Theft DIYs

To resurrect an old thread, has anyone done an install of the 17800431 Shock Sensor and the 22962506 Wheel Theft Deterrent System. I know, once installed they need to be programmed (not the information I am looking for). I'm looking for a DIY (the Shock Sensor came with instructions, the Wheel Theft did not) or the GM Tech Service Manual install printouts. I also understand the install wiring may be slightly different when both are installed. Any help, anyone? Thanks,

MORAV
