Default Crank sensor?

My 2008 Suburban is running rough at idle and when getting up to speed.
I have a misfire code. My mechanic told me to replace the Crankshaft positioning sensor.

I'm not sure where it located. Some say its by the starter. Anyone know for sure?

My stabil track and traction control keeps coming on and off too. I think they are unrelated.

if you have a misfire code its probably disabling the stabilitrak and traction control. The crank sensor is above the starter, take the starter off and its right there. Was it actually diagnosed? Theres usually more than just a misfire code if its crank sensor related

The mechanic put on his computer and checked it. Not sure if he diagnosed it or just guessed. The computer did say misfire.

I replaced the crankshaft positioning sensor. The symptoms are still there.
What do you think about the throttle body or camshaft sensor?

iif you replaced the crank sensor you'll need to have a crank variation relearn done, I believe it can only be done with a scantool. Otherwise if it has a misfire start simple, get the code or scantool data to figure out which cylinder and look at the spark plugs and wires. Fuel spark and compression is what any cylinder needs. How many miles are on it? May need a tune up
