Default cylinder #6 misfire

Jumped in the truck the other day and started down the road and it starting running really rough... Then check engine light came on... Took it and got it scanned and it was cylinder #6 misfire. But the running rough went away on way to store. Started it tonight and light is still on but it runs fine... Where should i start?

It could be the distributor, but is a flat top. Can you remove it and check for corrosion? It may be best to simply replace it, or it is likely to be a dirty injector. The only other possibility is a weak or broken valve spring for the #6 cylinder. This can cause a misfire at higher rpm. Removing the passenger side valve cover and inspecting the valve springs will let you know if this is the cause.

Did you ever get this issue figured out ? I'm having the same problem and have switched out everything but the distributor, coil pack and have not checked the valves....
