Default Diverence in aftermarket mirrors vs original

Someone hit and smashed my driverside mirror of my 2007 Tahoe Z71. The garage ordered and mounted a new original GM mirror they said. Costs 1400 euro’s. When I got the car back I noticed a big diverence between the two mirrors. The sides of the mirror glas of the new one has a thick rubber edge. The other original one hasn’t. Also bij folding the mirrors the original one closes nice in line of the door, the new one sticks halfway. I think the garage has mounted a aftermarket cheap mirror in stead of a original GM. Maybe someone has an idea what’s going on?

Ask them if they put an oem part on the vehicle. a gm part will have gm embossing and gm part numbers but you would have to remove the mirror to see this.
