Tahoe & Suburban The power, space, and brutal towing ability make the Tahoe and its longer sibling, the Suburban, arguably the best full size SUV's on the market today.

Default First Trip

I just returned from my first long trip in my 2010 Suburban LT. I am an old guy and this is my first suburban. Total trip was 2800 miles through Colorado, New Mexico, through Missouri, Illinois, Texas, Oklahoma, mountains 103 degree heat, etc. I average 18.7 miles per gallon, the suburban was loaded with coolers, baggage, etc and the a/c running full open. The mileage is nothing to brag about, but the Suburban or Yukon is the only way to travel. I was really impressed, and more importantly my wife and dog were too.

I agree on the great comfort during travel. we went on a shorter 650 mile trip with my wife, our 2 year old and our beagle, my mom and her lab, "stuff" in the back and a hitch carrier loaded up. plenty of room for everyone and thank goodness for the DVD player! on the way down we had a 30 mph+ tail wind and got 22.1mpg
coming back against that same wind dropped the trip average to 19.8mpg
