Default Front suspension question

Hey I'm new to this forum. i have a 2008 avalanche LTZ and my dad has a 2001 2uburban 2500 lt autoride 4x4. Any way the suburbans front end is rattling and i think it is the pitman arm and the shocks. i suspect its more the shocks because i cought wind that gm is taking back some of the autoride shocks for the '01s or something like that. They are doing this because of a rattle that happens. I think the only reason why they dont recall it because there are so many and it is easier to say that it is just a wear and tear item. If this is true that the shocks are being redesigned, would anyone know when they will be available.

Also am i on the right track that the vibrations is from the pitman arm and the shocks? The vibration/rattle occurs when i am either at low speeds and turning either way or when i go over bumps.

Thanks!
