Default Hands-free power liftgate sensor - disable tip

I love my 2022 Suburban LT, but was getting very annoyed that I had to be so careful walking behind it in the garage so as to not accidentally activate the liftgate sensor light that shines down from the rear bumper. On more than one occasion either I or my dog would trip that sensor and the door would proceed to open directly against my garage door! I finally decided to just put a piece of black gorilla tape over the sensor opening under the rear bumper, and it worked perfectly! As seldom as I've ever used that feature on purpose, I'm definitely not going to miss it. And removal of the tape is so simple if I ever change my mind or sell the car.

Good tip. Too many buttons and electronics on these.
Here's what I found yesterday on our 2014 https://chevroletforum.com/forum/tah...-again-112660/
